Our Mission: Making Markets Better
Central to everything we do at Cboe Global Markets is working to Make Markets Better. Whether it is a new product offering, a new business initiative or a policy discussion, we're focused on improving the quality of our markets in ways that will benefit all participants. We stay true to our mission by partnering closely with our many customers, and tirelessly working to provide them a better trading experience that complements their business and investing objectives.
How We Make Markets Better
Deep Liquid Markets
In the U.S. and in Europe, our deep, liquid markets provide customers with the ability to execute their trades efficiently and effectively. Our equities exchanges are leaders in order execution quality. Additionally, each of our markets has a diverse membership base, which is essential to maintaining a healthy, quality marketplace.
Innovative Tools to Manage Risk
Cboe offers customers a suite of risk management tools to help them mitigate risk, which helps to keep markets safer. We believe that a multi-layered approach to risk management, with various risk checks in place both at the customer and exchange level through the life of an order, is fundamental to ensuring the resiliency of all the markets in which we operate.
Great Technology Backed by Great People
Today's markets are nearly 100% electronic, but it's the people behind the technology that truly matter. Our associates, with a strong focus on our customers, have set Cboe apart from the competition since our launch from a small storefront in the Kansas City area in 2005. Our team of market and technology professionals created and oversees our securities exchanges, which have a history of being some of the most resilient and reliable in the global exchange industry. Cboe has built its reputation on building world-class technology that delivers results and a team that provides best-in-class customer service.
World-Class Market Surveillance & Supervision
In the U.S., the Cboe securities exchanges are regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Cboe is also a self-regulatory organization (SRO), and we adhere to the highest principles to operate fair and orderly markets.
In Europe, our securities exchange is regulated and supervised by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as a Recognized Investment Exchange (RIE). Our European exchange, Cboe Europe, satisfies the same regulatory and market surveillance obligations as other exchanges as mandated by its home regulator, the FCA, as well as the European Commission and European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA).
